14 Day May Challenge

Are any of you Folksters up for a 14 Day May Challenge? Getting in 10,000 steps a day can be a challenge – we know, however, what a difference it can make in your life! The challenge of running 3 times of week will help you get to the 10,000 steps quicker on those days (and the planking will make you stronger and give you a sexier stomach)! We hope this makes a difference by adding this little challenge to your Folk Wellness Co. Bootcamp schedule! The challenge rules are simple: 

  • Starts May 18th
  • Ends May 31st
  • Let us know how you did on June 1st 
  • #14DayMayChallenge

Oh and what is your favorite pedometer or steps counter?!

Improvements: Speed!

My 1-mile run time isn’t improving. How can I speed up?

It sounds counterintuitive, but try running slower and for a longer distance. In other words, don’t try to go out and improve your time day after day after day of the same distance.”

Your body recognizes the “overload” of the longer distance and strives to adapt by making your heart bigger and stronger, multiplying and expanding blood

We are planning on parking around Butler Park. There are restrooms here (mega important), next to the Daugherty Arts Center off of Barton Springs. You also have the parking garages @ Palmer Event Center and The Long Center

5K Fun Run/Walk Benefit

Please join us Saturday, February 23rd at 9am in Schulenburg, TX – Wolter’s Park. This event all about raising money to help defray the medical expenses for Penny’s family.
